OMG.
Haven't read everyone else's reactions yet.. but..
OMG - the Face of Boe!
Martha really going!
The last of the Time Lords (other, one of) really dead! (or did I miss something - my PVR cut off the last second!!)
OMG!
Yep, as uual too many techie dei ex machina, and 900 yr old Dr was a bit too Yoda but.. mostly, OMG.
RTD is back playing the Whedon game with a vengeance. The Doctor, alone again, the last of his fellow kind found and lost, the love of his life (apparently) living but gone from him, even his brave allies gone again (Jack and Martha both)..
AS Whedon used to say, we love Buffy the more he makes her suffer. No one ever did this with the Dr before, he was always too omnipotent, too in control - that's RTD's real novel contribution.
But it will be a trick to know what can cheer up the Doctor next series - we don't want Buffy series 6!!!
I can only imagine next series will be about bringing back the Time Lords somehow?? What awful thing the Dr did to end the Time War finally properly explained?
So did Freema go or was she pushed?
I still wish jack had gone with the Dr (and had more to do in this ep - oh well.) But maybe Torchwood will be better now, with less angst..
And Lucy's father and the Silver Devastation were all just red herrings? Oh well!!!
