Summer and winter are purrticularly tough seasons for stray cats, for obvious reasons. We're extra worried about all the little fur babies out there trying to survive in this heat when we can barely handle it in our cool, air-conditioned houses. So, if you see a cat hiding underneath a car in the summer, please, please bring it inside and give it some water. The CDS doesn't take any days off, so if you see a cat hiding underneath a car avoiding the heat, congratulations! You've been presented with a purrfect new addition to your fluffy friends.

That's exactly what happened in the story below. Some cat parents found this sweet orange kitty trying to escape the Texas heat. And, just like all single-brain-celled cats, he walked right up to them without any hesitation and chose them as his pawrents. Poor guy was missing fur, had oil stains and a cough, but through their love, they got him healed up and now he's a loving member of their feline family!

There's just something meowgical about fresh laundry that turns every cat into a fluff-loving fanatic. Maybe it's the warmth, maybe it's the scent of "clean," or maybe it's just that anything you care about, your cat has to conquer. Whether it's a freshly folded stack of shirts or a mountain of towels straight from the dryer, your feline overlord will find a way to claim it as their purrsonal throne.

Folded clothes? Now they're fur-lined. That black hoodie you just de-linted? Covered in love (and 3,000 stray hairs). And don't even think about moving them once they've settled in. A nap on laundry is sacred territory, and disturbing the floof is a serious offense punishable by passive-aggressive stares and dramatic flops.

Some kitties prefer diving into laundry baskets like they're Olympic athletes in the Snuggle Games. Others simply burrow into piles like tiny, judgmental laundry dragons guarding their cotton treasure.

No matter how they enjoy it, cats and laundry go paw in paw. Sure, you might never have wrinkle-free clothes again, but at least your laundry routine comes with a side of adorable chaos and plenty of purrks!

There's something especially entertaining about the classic story: a dad who didn't want a cat, and the cat who changed his mind. It usually starts with firm declarations."I don't want animals in the house," or "I'm not taking care of it." But give it time, and suddenly he's building window perches, researching the best treats, and referring to himself as the cat's favorite.

What makes these stories so satisfying is the complete 180. One day he's complaining about litter boxes, and the next he's curled up on the couch with a sleeping cat on his chest. He might still claim, "It's not my cat," but the evidence says otherwise: blurry selfies together, daily play routines, and handmade toys that mysteriously appear.

These quiet transformations don't happen all at once. They sneak in through shared routines, stolen moments, and unexpected affection. The cat doesn't try to win him over. It just exists, stubbornly and softly, until the gruff exterior starts to soften. And in the end, it's not just about liking the cat. It's about realizing that maybe he needed the cat just as much as the cat needed him.

This tail begins with a surprise: a mysterious, collar-less kitty who plopped herself on the doorstep of a WFH human and strutted inside like she owned the place (classic cattitude). Despite no sign of her pawrents, she kept returning, for head boops, snacks, and snoozes, until she eventually showed up wearing a collar and ID tag, revealing she did have a home!

Her actual hooman was pawsitively lovely, explaining that the 12-year-old was full of love and welcome to visit as long as she wasn't causing any hissteria. But this senior meowdel had other plans. She refused to leave, yowled at the door when turned out, and even camped out in a thunderstorm waiting to be let back in. The humans caved (who wouldn't?) and gave her food, a litter box, and a spot on the couch.

Now they're caught in a feline frenzy of feelings. They're grateful to be chosen, but unsure if they've pawssed any unspoken cat etiquette. Is it normal? Is it okay? One thing's fur sure: this clever kitty has found her second home and she's not kitten around about it.

Let's be real, there is not a soul in the world that is working at the same pace and intensity on Friday as they have throughout the working week. Because Friday marks the end of the week and with that the coming of the weekend, and why should we be responsible for winding ourselves down in our free time when we can just as well wind down while being paid to do it. Not to mention that it was the thing that pays us that wound us up in the first place.

So to help you begin the wind down process we made this list of calming cat memes, each feline fluffier and calmer than the last, such that when you complete your sublime scroll you will be more relaxed than a crafty catto who got into the catnip. Just keep a little bit of your whits about you as your boss is still expecting you to work today and you do not want to be caught with your guard down.

Hey, fellow feline fanatic fans. Were you also that "Cat Kid" who always wanted a cat and, for any reason, couldn't have one? Some kids beg their parents for a dog, some are certified horse girls who dream of riding one towards the sunset, but some of us? We just wanted a fluffy feline friend to care for, to have by our side.

This kid from the story below is no different than us, the cat lovers who wanted a fellow floof who meows softly to our faces and purrs loudly. She begged her mom for a cat for quite some time, but life circumstances didn't allow them to have a cat right away. But we all know the Cat Distribution System works in meowsterious ways. When the CDS decides you're a cat-pawrent-to-be, one must comply.

So it's just so happened that when the lovely mom took her daughter to school, the CDS worked its magic. They heard a small, meowing cry from a ditch nearby. And there - was the little lady floof the daughter was wishing for in the dreams. The Cat Distribution System has decreed, "You are now to be a cat pawrent, and your daughter will become her best friend".

And so it happened. We adore a happy ending when it comes to cat adoptions. Saving an abandoned kitten is the deed done by the best people possible. And this mom and her daughter? We salute them. And the little kitten, named adorably "Coco Muffin" by the kid? We already know she's going to be the queen of the house, living the dream, while the kid also lives her dream - together with a cat for many years.

Some neighborhoods treat pets like local celebrities, but there's always someone ready to play talent agent and book them for a private tour.

In these circles, the idea of ownership is little more than a technicality, and any animal with a taste for adventure is at risk of being "adopted" by the boldest opportunist on the block. Here, the property line is just a suggestion, and the only thing more flexible than a cat's spine is a neighbor's sense of entitlement.

Feeling pawtriotic? Nothing makes pawrents more excited for a howliday more than cat memes that can be applied to just about any situation that's ever existed. How do I know this? Well, you're here, aren't you?

Whether you celebrate the Fourth of July in the U.S. or couldn't care less about the holiday, the point here is that freedom makes you feel powerful. What else is powerful? Our felines—it's their main character trait. All they know how to do is boss their pawrents around, repeatedly and continually, because they know we will fulfill their every request. There's nothing quite like a meowther's love…

I'm feeling extra pawtriotic about cat country right about now. Patriotism is devotion, it is love, it is fear… and this is how it feels to be the owner of a cat who runs the household. Though we can always give them a half-scoop of food instead of a full one, or skip out on the nightly Churu, we never do. Why? Well, that wouldn't be any fun! Our cats enjoy bossing us around, and we hoomans live to serve. Scroll below to get your much-needed dose of the most independent animals on earth.

This tail is truly one for the hisstory books. What started as a stray meowing at the door turned into a full-blown feline soap opera with a purrfect plot twist! A kind-hearted foster pawrent started caring for the fluffy orange kitty, showering him with treats, snuggles, and lap time. After asking around, she unoffically adopted him as her own.

Then, one day in the elevator, she spotted a lost cat flyer and instantly recognized the face, down to the odd little spot on his nose. That's when she realized the cat had a secret double life. This wasn't some lost little furball. It was a seasoned neighborhood explorer with a doting pawrent just one floor below.

Embarrassed but determined, she returned the whiskered wanderer to his rightful hooman who was pawsitively thrilled to know his curious kitty was safe and loved. Even better? He invited her to visit any time. Now, morning coffee with Mr. Whiskers (yes, the cat) and his charming hooman has become a cherished ritual, complete with cozy chats, retro building stories, and plenty of purrs.

So while it started with a little accidental catnapping, it ended with a new friend, a daily cuddle session, and proof that when a cat picks you, it's meownt to be.

Before the internet crowned cats as its supreme rulers, painters were already paying furry tribute on canvas. That's right, cats have been silently judging us from the corners of fine art for centuries. Whether curled at a noblewoman's feet, skulking in a cat corner, or mid-stretch in a scene, these stealthy felines have clawed their way into art history.

Some cats are symbolic (witchcraft! femininity! independence!), but most of them look like they just wandered in, found a warm spot, and purrsisted in staying. Classic cat. You'll spot them in Egyptian frescoes, medieval meownuscripts, Dutch still lifes, and even chilling in a random portrait. It's the original version of photobombing, but with fur and attitude.

Art historians may wax poetic about their meaning, but we know the truth: cats just go where they want. Always have, always will. So next time you're gazing at a centuries-old painting, look closely.Behind all that grandeur and glory, there's probably a feline being pawsitively judgmental and looking mewseum-worthy while doing it.

You know, it is rather funny how people complain about how difficult it is to train an uneducated doggo. And sure, while it is no picnic, doggos are amenable enough to eventually respond to commands and therefore make tangible progress.

While when it comes to cats, they do not care what you have to say, in fact a lot of what we have to say can leave them in a rather salty state, and in the best case scenario they learn to feel safe in the environment you have given them, mainly thanks to the food we put out for them. It is a journey of pain, persistence and perseverance, and only the toughest of the tough can make it through to the other side and bond with their babies. Much as this wildlife biologist did and we could not be prouder to share his story with you.

Time has been proven to be non-linear, both in the way that we experience it and the way that it is. So why should we be forced to work until Friday when we feel like we have done a week and a half's worth of work in four days? That really is something that needs to be fixed, but likely will not be until time travel is invented, which is a whole other can of worms that we will not open right now.

So seeing as we need to keep going and work another two days of this concept they call a week, we made this list of feline funnies to raise your spirits and fill you with funny feline energy. At least that way, you will have some good jokes to tell around the water cooler when you are trying to waste time.
