As far as I can see, the main impact of this meme will likely be to make people Friend lots of other people in an attempt to get their Page Rank up. I wonder if that's a good thing or a bad thing? I'm middling-low on my Mutual Friends list it seems, and already I feel an insane urge to do something about it.. !

Still hung up on Sewn by The Feeling. Anyone else noticed it? The new Donald Fagen album is pretty good too.

Too tired to write up an interesting but rather enervating weekend of family funeral in Barrow in Furnesss, six hours in a day in car south and north, various family secrets gathered and exposed, brother's Internet bride examined more fully (American - tick) , Wolves in the Wall at the Tramway (fantastic sets and staging and wolf puppets, less good music and plot), [livejournal.com profile] snotnose's Hugo Nomination Loser's party (oh, am I jumping the gun! oops! :-). Then I finally went BUY BUY BUY LOTS OF CLOTHES (though not quite the ones I imagined ) - some of which will no doubt come out at Eastercon/and or my conference in Malta. Nothing very *spectacular* though, but than again, I am of course 142 now, and far too old for things with holes, latex, lurex, semtex, etc in them - and anyway Eastercon seems wholly devoid of Dressing Up Opportunities , compared to last year's Bond girls and togas - or have I missed something by not getting any of the PRs??

I have anyway got a gorgeous black and white boucle (imagine the accent) cardigan - v chi chi, ducks - 2 white vests to go under it, one black t, and a rather nice black and silver pendant -- plus, switching colour schemes, a brown tankini and brown shorts to go along with the brown sarong I already have, and a brown chocolatey crushed lacey skirt and top thing, plus optional rust lace cardi, from Per Una, which will be a good evening "dressing up a bit without scaring the geeks" thing for Malta I think. (And, mutatis mutandem, Eastercon.)

I'd still like a brown and turquoise wrap dress though - any suggestions?? Oh, the brainless ambrosia of guilt-free destination-oriented clothes shopping! Almost as good as reading Katie Fforde..

I believe that the rating goes up if other people friend you, and not vice versa...

But it does have many more Going Out for Dinner Opportunities!
You can wear a posh frock for the Awards ceremony on Saturday night, and we have a lecturer in Bra and Corset Design as a guest, which we hope will inspire people.
PRs are available on the web site http://www.eastercon2006.org

What surprises me is that I'm not far below you in popularity according to this software. I was expecting a largish gap in the numbers.

I'm a virtual pariah in comparison.

But at least Donald Fagen still has admirers.

very interesting and scientifical survey. i am about two-thirds down the list of my Friends, which to me indicates that i am watching the right people. the ones who do lots of interesting things, that is, on LJ, i think that is what this is measuring. the prospect of anyone actually attempting to manipulate this number as though it reflected on their personal value is just sad. don't go there!

Monsoon had one last season, which might be worth popping in if you see an outlet or something that's likely to have it.
