Interesting observation

I think my footnote density is going up.
The paper I'm working on right now, I just noticed, has got to 5,000 words to date and has 60 footnotes (with some still needing inserted I know).
The one I was cribbing from, from 2003, has 10,000 words but only 76 footnotes.
Magnum Opus of 2005, had 15,000 words but only 140 footnotes.
All are on similar area (consumer privacy) so you wouldn't think they'd be too different.
The LENGTHS aren't necessarily increasing (though the trend is that way) - i hope this one may be 6-8,000 words.
Hmmm!
