I had some of the worst times of my life in Dorset on my vacation placements. The only things that kept me sane there were alcohol and the books of Thomas Hardy (who I hate for his plots but love for his topography) and Keith Roberts.
These days the only place south of Brum I'll willingly visit is London. The South West will forever remain a closed book to me.
