Story I forgot from last night..

Michael " So the class asked me who we would get in as special guests for the privacy class.. and I started listing what I thought of as the top US digital privacy rights people... Joel Reidenberg.. Ari Schwartz.. Marc Rotenberg... Orin Kerr.. Michael Froomkin.."

"And you didn't even know I was Jewish when you asked me," I chime in.

Yup. You don't have to be Jewish to be an internationally well known privacy lawyer, but it sure does seem to help. Oppression is a fine and wonderful thing :)(And then we all go visit our relatives in Israel.)

(cf All UK human rights lawyers are actually Irish. And most IP lawyers are Australian. Discuss.)

The first is an interesting legacy of the Prevention of being Irish Act. Presumably in a generation they will all be Muslim.
