24. Brick - excellent - see review on main journal
25. X-Men 3 - disappointing - see review on main hournal
26. Kung Fu Hustle (on DVD) - delightful 20s Hong Kong-style comedy kung fu pastiche: combining somehow the pantomime tradition of Chinese entertainment that goes back to Peking opera, with The Matrix-style choreographed fights (it's the same fight arranger, natch), cartoon action a la Jackie Chan, interludes that remind you of everything from Delicatessen to Wacky Races and a strangely workable if obvious use of symbolism. Also LOL funny. I enjoyed it (and boy, is the director hot when he takes his shirt off!)
.. mainly to say, halfway and June only started..
