.. or, the End of a Perfect Day (no irony..)
There are dramatic pools of blood outside my front door - I ought to go clear em up but I'm worried if I do I'll faint. Where is CSI edinburgh when you could really do with it? How much blood loss actually matters?
I'm also considering ringing NHS Direct to find out if there are any arteries in the top of the foot (if it was the bottom , I'd be seriously worried) - but am worried they'll tell me to go to A & E which is the last thing I want at the end of a hot day!
In the meantime that Harvard conference t shirt I never wear has finally come good as emergency bandaging..
EDIT: this by the way is the OTHER foot from the one whose ankle I sprained yesterday. Seeing me hobbling to doctors tomorrow is going to rival Jake the Peg.

Can GPs do stitches? I don't want to go to ERI - it'll be 100 degrees..

Date: 2006-07-18 09:41 am (UTC)As far as I know, GPs don't do stitches, so it looks like you'll have to go to ERI. There's also a minor injuries clinic at the Western but I'm not sure what counts as minor...
Am glad they said it was okay to go to the beach though!

They had to paper stitch it - so at least I avoid A & E (unless it goes yellow and falls off in nwext 3 days :D

Date: 2006-07-17 10:12 pm (UTC)Since your main concern is fainting from looking at the blood, rather than fainting from losing it, I think you'll be okay. Have you got your feet well washed and bandaged with antiseptic ointment?
