Oh man I rock!
Dec. 16th, 2006 12:11 amAm back in Edinburgh with cool new Toshiba Satellite U200 mini laptop, and I have single handedly connected it to home wireless network,26 digit hex code and all, sorted the virus and firewall connections, and can now surf LJ while watching Dazed and Confused (not very impresssed so far) on the teeny portable TV
lilutifire gave me, rather bizarrely hooked up to Telewest Freeview cable box..
OK this is old hat for you guys but I feel Very Proficient. Why, I've even made my tenants strange American toaster oven work!! And have gone out and bought tea, toast, milk, bagels, cream cheese, smoked salmon, sausages, eggs, mushrooms and Heinz tomato soup - the essentials of life ;) I fel a bit like I'm camping out in my own house. It's so EMPTY as all my clutter is in Southampton and my tenants don';t, apparently, have any. (In their own defense they'd have had to ship it from Austin TX., they do however appear to be eerily tidy.)
I suspect however that in 3 weeks I will have managed to mess the place up :P
Tomorrow getting a Xmas tree. It is SO NICE to be home. I miss the kitties though. Sniff.
EDIT: OH other acievements: finished all the preliminary work so the law website can go CMS after Xmas; revised cv; wrote 2000 word editorial TODAY on last possible day before journal goes live; tidied house so catsitter can come and not thnk me a total slut; did not miss plane or even panic when taxi was late. Yes this is my half baked version of positivity :)
