Southampton email- HELP!

Anyone know what the fucking hell is up with the Exchange webmail server? or is it the stupid SUSSED page? neither will load for me,and haven't all day. Attempts to make Exchange work via an Outlook client also failed. Weirdly however I CAN get my email, rather slowly, via Orange smartphone. GRRRR. This never happened at Edinburgh ..:( WHERE IS MY EMAIL!!!!

Anyone sending me attachments or non emergency email - i'm unlikely to to be reading them till this gets fixed or I get back to the office, ie Wed. GRRRRRR!

Mine were fine yesterday, and seems to be working OK at the moment. Once I get in to the lab, I can see if there are are any particular problems that have been flagged up, if that would be of use?

yeh that would be fantastic. If I put in www.exchange.soton.ac.uk or the /exchange/ sub file here it won't load - I don't even get a 404 error or anything, it just keeps spinning. My phone works using imap.exchange.soton.ac.uk but if i put exact same details in Outlook client it fails. wtf????

I suspect they have had a revamp over Easter and cocked it up. if you could let someone know I'd be very very grateful. If someone from ISS could ring me on 07946 644256 I'd be ectsatic.

I've come across various things about interruptions to the email and file-store systems over Easter, but according to ISS they should have been finished by now. I've emailed them to ask them to give you a call and see if they can sort it out that way. I hope that helps...

Thank you thank you thank you, I now have mail - they have it under outlook.soton.ac.uk now - would have been nice if we had been TOLD `that..!

I can also now get into SUSSED but only if I use IE not Firefox, and I can get itno Blackboard if I use the direct address (which i didn't previously know existed) and not the link from either any of the uni home pages, inc SUSSED, or the Law School's own link.

I'm really glad about all this but wouldn't you agree it's pretty sucky???

Did they actually call you in the end, or did you work it out yourself? They didn't acknowledge that they'd got my email, so I wasn't sure if it had got through to anyone.

I've had so many problems with them over the years that I just accept now that any dealings I have with them will turn into a shambles. I've no idea why they should be so much worse than other universities.

I still think it was a great shame that they changed their name from SUCS to ISS a few years back, as the former always seemed very apt...

They did call. I would never have dreamt they could change the name of the webmail file without telling everyone!!! surely I'm not the only one who had trouble?

and yeh I think a staff portal page that isn't supp;orted in Firefox is pretty bloody awful..
