mostly from reddit and slashdot :) check out the case - it's quite interesting. in short, microsoft has a free "express edition" of its visual studio ide, whose eula states that you can't write add-ons for it (they hope that people who want to use third party add-ons will upgrade to the full visual studio). the testdriven.net dude broke the eula by making his product operate on all versions of visual studio, including the express edition.

(and yes, i saw the lolretro stuff :) i love boing boing)
