Happy birthday to rozk!! + update

As above!!

And while I'm here, to note that by dint of somehow setting the alarm wrong I actually got up before 9am today. And I RAN on the treadmill yesterday for oooh a whole 7 1/2 minutes yesterday. Can this persist??!!

Thurs night to Sunday turned into a much needed mini break : consisting of

- failing to get to the New Media 2.schmooze thing (queue of 4,000 and pouring rain rather took the shine off it) and going to a random Italian instead with the cool.geek crowd and getting very very sozzled:)

- meeting up with ripperlyn at the Tate Modern, failing to get to the Dali and Film exhibition, and geting very very sozzled :-> (I think we did see some art, though fucked if I can remember what!!)

- going to mkillingworth's and timill's bbq in beautiful countryside-y Coveney, failing to get back to Soton that night, and getting very very sozzled :-)>

- going to the gym and swim Sunday and trying to make up for some of the damage! :(

Thanks to bohemiancoast et al for as ever being incredibly helpful hosts, Marcia and Tim for letting me invite myself to their barbie, major_clanger for (yet again) crash space at last minute, and the_magician for being unpaid chauffeur! (Yes, I am accepting the Oscar for Best Blagging About the UK Supporting Actress!)

On the Achievement Front, I have finally removed 337 photos from my mobile phone, and replaced ded mobile phone (which is actually working again right now, btw)for free by ordering an upgrade to the Nokia N95 which has 3G, wi fi, a camera that WORKS and GPS! Oooh, shiney:)

This weeks' tasks - do All my Expenses claims since Easter (gloom), buy an inflatable mattress, check out the John Lewis sofa sale, take clothes back to M & S and Next. I can do that, sure I can.

EDIT: oh and buy new printer cartidge. And new charger for digicam. And maybe new TV if old one dies.

Harry Potter film on Friday with andrewducker, electricant and zarabee. How many of you have already booked a seat then huh?

I stick by my own statement that she's a corrupting influence. I've had an alcohol free weekend. Still I suspect we will make up for it this weekend with a poker night AND Vegas AND Harry Potter.

Sozzled? I haven't been sozzeled, hm, I was about to say "for ages" but I guess I was a bit on June 25. Several glasses of wine followed by several glass of absinthe . . . I'd like to go to the Tate Modern. One of these days I may do so. You certainly do seem to have a good support crew there. Inflatable mattress? Already did the buy new TV thing but now simply must get an HD DVR, new stereo speakers and amplifier, new external hard drive (possibly a RAID box, actually) and a voltage conditioner (on the assumption that voltage spikes on a continuing basis is the cause for electronic equipment dying, as opposed to simply short life spans). Now if I had only backed up the thousands of photos on the now seemingly deceased external hard drives. . . Finally, yes, do have tickets for Harry Potter on Friday also but it's in California at the local IMAX.
