It's been a bad week I know for at least 2 cat-lovers, so I thought I'd pass on this amazing vid.

Watching Comics Britannia onBritish comics which has now hit where I remember coming in - Bunty and  the Four Maries. OMG I feel OLD! I love Alan Grant;s admission that he too longed to go to boarding school and hang out in the 4 Mary's cosy study room :-)

EDIT: Did i ever`realise that Tammy introduced an "almost Gothic" slant into girl's comics?? No I don't think so! I did realise it was all getting rather S `and M at times - is that the same thing?!
Maybe I was nearer becoming a Goth than i ever `dreamt!

He really did recognise them, didn't he. How astonishing. And how clearly he showed them he remembered them. And then the female from the pride, who I assume was a wild lion rather than a hand reared one, just pressing against the man without a care in the world. Astonishing, thank you for posting it.

Hah! I didn't see the link to the video at first, so I assumed you were talking about Alan Moore recognising the Four Marys :-) And wondering which of the Marys was the alpha female...

I'm an idiot.

Gah! And if you take out the word "lion" completely, you've just written Alan Moore/Four Marys slash :-)

Excuse me, it's been a long day.

Girls' comics did paddle gently in the waters that dubious Italian horror movies wallowed in - sinister boarding schools, ballerinas, etc. etc. OK, there were probably fewer stories about nuns, and no Goblin soundtracks... ;)

Of course now I just want lions.

I recall only one single Four Marys story, in which they were menaced by a cursed statue of Osiris and flocks of birds.
