They hide the hair drier next to the computer nearest the kitchen so they can defrost things with it. Why any fool could have worked that out :)

Not to defrost things generally, just to defrost the freezer... and normally it lives in the kitchen cupboard. It was only outside so that M could, rather radically, dry her hair with it. And why M dries her hair while sitting at a computer, heaven only knows.
