It's currently hotter at 1am here - 18 degrees - than it is in Edinburgh tomorrow duruing the day, acording to the forecast.
I may have slight sunstroke:)

Yesterday was first proper BBQ of the year  - my very own, not Eeva's for once tho she and Simon came! Nick helped start the barbie, I carried on, and Gerritt brought king prawns and fish kebabs and SQUID!!! which no one ate :) so I got to try throwing a prawn on the barbie, sheila  (mostly they fall between the racks onto the coals - bah!) and Emily brought the best carrot cake I've EVER had. Add my chicken marinated in chili and lime, lamb burgers, and sausidges and Eeva's patented fab potato salad, and I think it was pretty fine :) The kids even played nicely together - aww.
Ooh no I'm hungry now!.

That's Mark and Emily's baby btw!!

Today , got catfood and then POOOL. British people are mad - they all go home at 4-5pm. It's so lovely at 6ish when the light slants oddly and everything is mellow and quiet.
It's also far hotter btw than either Madison OR Montreal. This weather is insane! I keep wanting to buy sun dresses..

Oh, Dr Who. Q good, but I wish for such a major canon addition they'd got  a Moffat or Cornell on board - writing was barely but serviceable. OTOH I thought everyone acted their socks off - DT is SO much better when he's being quiet and grave rather than mad and gurney!!
I really loved both the conversation with Donna about his first family (brilliantly calm while implying deep grief), and well, the death scene. The Hath were gloriously old fashioned bad-SFX aliens.

Obvious points I've sure everyone else has made: well do i see the British Buffy spin off coming SOOON! Although in the end she was really more like Tank Girl. I'm glad they kept her alive, but dear me, even if the Doctor hasn't seen The Search for Spock, surely Donna and Martha have!! (Also if one heart got shot , surely the other should have kept her alive. And when did Martha become such a xeno biology expert - Hath AND Time Lords??) I'd really rather the Dr had known - we've had enough relentles tragedy and parting for him surely - they could have had him sensing her reawakening surely? "Today, everybody lives!".

I wish they'd keep these promising new characters around as ensemble though  - I thought it worked so well when it was the Dr, Jack and Rose. And would be more Buffy ish too, which should suit RTD:) Apparently the actress (who is Peter Davison's daughter) is a big Dr Who fan so one imagines she'd have been up for it.
